Owl floor tile
Tin-glazed earthenware medallion floor tile decorated with a horned owl in blue, green, ochre and yellow on an off-white glaze within concentric circles. There are blue trefoils in each corner. Medallion tiles with figurative and animal subjects were popular in the Low Countries and London. This tile was made in the Pickleherring factory in Southwark.
