Tin-glazed earthenware charger decorated with six ochre apples among green leaves with three central bunches of grapes, the outlines in blue on an off-white glaze. The back of the charger is a fawn colour. Decorative dishes like this were propped up on a sideboard or suspended from a cord threaded through holes in the ‘foot ring’ on the back. This plate was probably made in Southwark.
