Polychrome geometric design charger
English tin-glazed ware charger with a central rosette in blue with green shading, surrounded by triangles in ochre, and pale green foliage, outlined in blue, on an off-white glaze. Decorative dishes like this were propped up on a sideboard or suspended from a cord threaded through holes in the ‘foot ring’ on the back. It was found in a brick- and chalk-lined well at Gateway House on Watling Street.
