Archaeology — C. 1660-1870
Plate
This half of a Staffordshire-type combed slipware plate was found on an archaeological excavation in Church Street, Isleworth, close to Kew Gardens. Plates like these are decorated by combing together brown and white slip - a bit like the icing on top of a Bakewell tart.
