Archaeology — Roman; 250-400
Plate, platter
A lead alloy platter with a flanged rim and a shallow depression in the centre; very badly corroded and now consolidated making the original form unclear; parallels suggest that it may have had a foot-ring. The vessel, found in a burial, is likely to date from the main period of production of pewter vessels, the late 3rd and 4th centuries.
