Cloth seal from the Colchester Dutch community broken into two parts. This rivet disc (double rivet) is inscribed * / *DVYTS / COLCESTE / BAYE / 1571*. Cloth imprints exist on the back of both parts. The date refers to the year in which the Dutch-community in Colchester established their textile manufacture on a properly regulated basis.
