Enamelled sexfoil, bow and ring chain or necklace
A gold chain of 114 links with an alternating arrangement of 28 pierced sexfoil flowers, 57 conjoined rings and 28 twisted bows. The bows and sexfoils are decorated in opaque champlevé enamel: the bows in white and the sexfoils in variegated white and blue-green with stamens of beaded gold. The corded rings are bound together with twisted gold wires reinforced with solder. The bows and sexfoils have integral attachment loops and each link is joined to its neighbour with a plain gold ring. Part of the Cheapside Hoard
