Baluster measure, measure

A baluster measure of approximate half-pint capacity and is inscribed ‘Henery Fuller att ye three Crownes in charls/street west’ and the initials ‘H’ and ‘F’ are engraved on the handle. The touch on the rim to the right of the handle depicts a tankard with the date [16]69 and is the mark of Robert Seare, London, fOP4170A]. Seare was free in 1669/70 and was a renowned maker of Royal Portrait tankards. The full mark shows a medallion on the tankard with the initials ‘R’ and ‘S’ below. After his death in 1694 his widow, Mary continued the business - Ricketts, 2001, 189.
