Nicholas Thory, a chandler, isssued this trade token, worth a farthing, for his business in Upper Shadwell, Middlesex.
Boyne & Williamson (1891) reference Middlesex number 201; Obv inscription: NICH. THORY. CHANDLER (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A greyhound (in field) Rev insription: IN. UPPER. SHADWELL (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = N.S.T. (triad of initials in Roman capitals, in field).
