Edmund Warren issued this trade token, worth a half penny, for his business in Kennington, Surrey.
Boyne & Williamson (1891) reference Surrey number 136; Obv inscription: EDMVND. WARREN. OF. KENINGTON (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = HIS / HALF / PENY (in three lines of Roman capitals); Rev inscription: A man and dogs hunting a hare (in field).
Kennington formerly lay in Surrey, the area now covers parts of the London Borough of Lambeth, and the London Borough of Southwark.
