The Bell
This trade token, worth a farthing, was issued at the sign of the Bell, in Three Colts Alley.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 3139; Obv inscription: AT.THE.BELL.IN (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A bell (in field); Rev inscription: 3.COVLT.ALY.1653 (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = T.M.O. (triad of initials in Roman capitals, in field).

The location of issue for this token is uncertain, it may have been Three Colts Alley, later Cinnamon Street, in Stepney, Middlesex, now in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets; or it may have been Three Colts Alley (Angle Alley), in the ward of Bishopsgate Without, in the City of London.
