The Wheatsheaf
John Hinde, a baker, issued this trade token, worth a half penny, for his business in Thames Street, near Queenhithe.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 3102; Obv inscription: IOHN. HINDE. IN. THAMES. STREET (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A wheatsheaf (in field); Rev inscription: BAKER.NEAR.QVEENE.HITH.GATE (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = HIS / HALFE / PENNY / 1668 (in four lines of Roman capitals, in field).
