The Queen's Head
This trade token, worth a farthing, was issued at the New Queen's Head (Elizabeth I), in Smithfield.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 2870 [940?]; Obv: THE.NEW.QVEENES.HEAD = Head of Elizabeth I; Rev: indistinuishable [Boyne has IN.WEST.SMITHFIELD] Device = G.A.P. (triad of initials in Roman capitals, in field).
The reading of this token is uncertain, it is likely that it is in fact from East Smithfield, Boyne reference London number 940, [EST SMITHFIELD].
