The Sugar Loaf
William Prescott issued this trade token, worth a half penny, for his business at the sign of the Sugar Loaf, in Goodman's Yard.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 1182; Obv inscription: WILLIAM.PRESCOTT.AT.YE (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A sugar-loaf (in field); Rev inscription: IN.GOODMANS.YARD.1668 (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = HIS / HALF / PENY / W.I.P. (in four lines of Roman capitals with triad of initials as bottom, in field).
