Henry Horne, a cheesemonger (trader in cheese and other dairy products), issued this trade token, worth a farthing, for his business in Bishopsgate Street (now Bishopsgate), Bishopsgate Ward, City of London.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 237; Obv. inscription: HEN.HORNE.CHESE.MONGER (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = H.M.H. (triad of initials in Roman capitals, in field). Rev. inscription: IN.BISHOPGATE.STREETE (around field, in Roman capitals). Device = H.M.H. (triad of initials in Roman capitals, in field).
