Saucer
A plain saucer with a boar’s head, profile to left, with the date 1578 for William Atmeyer, London, OP138.The year of Atmeyer’s freedom is unknown, but he is mentioned in the Company records during the last quarter of the 16th century; obtaining a loan from the Company in 1586 and attending a Committee in 1592 about the exportation of tin. Atmeyer bound his last apprentice in 1601. Date: late 16th, possibly early 17th century. See also acc. no. 94.172/1-2 and /4-9 from the same location.
