Sample, sample of ribbed smoked sheet rubber
Sample block of smoked ribbed rubber imported through the London docks from Malaya. Smoking was part of the natural drying process, and the rubber was widely used in making vehicle tyres. Rubber was imported through several of the lower docks but stored at the London Dock at Wapping.
