Pin, hairpin
Iron and copper alloy hairpin decorated with the bust of a woman at the end. It is very crude but she has an area of cross-hatching at the top of her head, which is probably attempting to show her hairstyle. It was fashionable in the Flavian period (AD 69-96) for women to wear their hair in curls piled high and pinned on top of their heads.
Found on Walbrook stream bed, close to eastern edge, in the City of London.
