Glass, ring, finger ring, intaglio
A deep-blue glass oval intaglio, depicting Mercury, the Roman god of commerce and messenger of the gods. Holding a purse in his right hand, with a chlamys (cloak) draped over his left arm and a caduceus (a winged staff held by messengers and heralds) in his left hand.
