Cup
A tapering cup dated to the late 17th century made by Jonathan Ingles.
Ingles was free in 1668 and opened his London shop in 1670. He was the Mayor of Southhampton from 1700 and might have also worked as a pewterer there too. Ingles can be classified as a merchant pewterer and was one of the very few 17th century London pewterers to manufacture both toys, candlesticks, hollow ware (such as tankards) and also flatware. Date: late 17th centurySee also note above under No. A26425 The handle is almost identical to that on the cup below – No. 8176.
