Needle case
Bone needle case. Probably from a bovine or horse long bone. A hollow cylinder, which tapers slightly towards one end. Both ends have screw threads inside and are open; the other sections are missing. The cylinder is elaborated, decorated and turned with circumferential bands separated by a version of the ring and dot motif. The ring and dot designs are arranged in three circumferential bands separated by two slots and a central pierced ring and dot on a slightly faceted surface. There are ten slots around the circumference, arranged in two bands of five. The slots are a series of five intersecting round circles, broken at the ends and by the elongated hole. The bone is highly polished and well finished.
