Post-Medieval — 1485-1714
Needle
Bone needle formed from longitudinal flat slice of bovine or horse long bone. The original eye has broken off surviving as a notch on the head. This eye has been superseded by a new perforation cut lower into the shank. Two small intersecting round holes form an elongated eye. The shank bulges out towards the point.
