A pewter spoon of 'puritan' type with an oval (regular ellipse) bowl, flattened stem which increases in width from the bowl to the tip; the end straight with a vertical nick or notch on the upper face. The bowl is decorated in geometric wrigglework, and there is a maker's mark of a shield incorporating the date '1668' above the letters 'W' and 'I'. There is a pronounced 'rat's tail' on the back of the bowl.
