Paintings, Prints & Drawings — 1851
Staple Inn, Holborn
A man in the right foreground of this picture carries a billboard advertising 'Small footed lady and family, Chinese Exhibition', with a drawing of three Chinese people on the back. The main spectacle was probably a Chinese woman with bound feet. Entertainment in 19th century London included looking at exotic or grotesque sights.
