The Hermitage
A view of the Hermitage, North End, Fulham. The grand villa, once owned by the dramatist Samuel Foote, was bought by John Scott Lillie in 1822. Having developed his land with new roads, the North End Brewery and tavern (originally the Lillie Arms, later the Lillie Langtry), and maltings, he moved to Chelsea in 1837.
