Bowl
Part of a decorated samian bowl, form Dragendorff 37, made at Les Martres-de-Veyre, Central Gaul by the potter Drusus I also known as X-3. Decorated with figures of Bacchus within arcades, and figures of a warrior and a nude male below an arched capital. Samian ware is high-quality Roman tableware made in Gaul (modern-day France) and exported throughout the empire. See Stanfield & Simpson, pl 12, 149; Detsicas, 1963, 54.
