Bowl
Part of a decorated samian bowl, form Dragendorff 29 made in one of the potteries in South Gaul. The upper zone is decorated with festoons that have cordate stipuled leaves, with vegetative scroll design in lower zone. The bowl has been slightly burnt, perhaps after it was thrown away. Samian ware is high-quality Roman tableware made in Gaul (modern-day France) and exported throughout the empire.
