Part of a decorated samian ware bowl, form Dragendorff 29, stamp: OFPON[TVS] inside bowl, the mark of the potter Pontus of South Gaul. Decoration includes, a series of vertical wavy lines with animal figure (rabbit?) between in lower zone. Carination, decorated with continuous gadroons with wavy line border above, with continuous scroll decoration above in upper zone. Samian ware is high-quality Roman tableware made in Gaul (modern-day France) and exported throughout the empire.
