Saucer
This transfer-printed earthenware saucer was found on an archaeological excavation in Church Street, Isleworth, close to Kew Gardens. The saucer is decorated with a foliage design in blue and green. There is a maker's mark for Davenport on the base. The Davenport pottery factory was based at Longport near Stoke-on-Trent and was set up by John Davenport in 1794. The pottery firm remained in his family until 1887.
