Inkwell
This brown-glazed stoneware ink bottle dates to the 19th century. Such bottles were very common. This small ink bottle may also have been used as an inkwell as it does not have a pouring lip and pens could be dipped directly into it. It was found on an archaeological excavation at Church Street, Isleworth, close to Kew Gardens.
