Bottle
This brown-glazed stoneware mineral water bottle is stamped 'York Mineral Water Co Ltd, Brentford'. The York Mineral Water Company Limited was located on York Road, Brentford in 1898 and closed in 1964. Water in London was often polluted and unfit to drink and therefore there were many mineral water companies in the 19th and early 20th century producing bottled drinking water. Found on an archaeological excavation at Church Street, Isleworth, close to Kew Gardens.
