Lamp, open lamp
Incomplete type 11A decorated ceramic open lamp, body fragment. About one third of the body survives. Flat rim and wall angled slightly outwards; flat base with incuse decoration consisting of a band of parallel angled lines and two concentric circular grooves defining an area similar to a foot ring but not raised; incomplete incuse line on centre of base may be further decoration; patchy sooting around rim. Scar of a handle on exterior wall surface. Colchester early colour-coated ware (COLEC).
