This transfer-printed plate is a commemorative item of the Great Exhibition, held in London 1851. The transfer-print shows the Great Exhibition building, designed by Sir Joseph Paxton, in the background with four figures in the foreground representing the four continents. The back of the plate has no maker's mark.
