Rim sherd of large straight-sided dish, probably Arretine ware, with external decoration, in a red/orange glossy slip.
It is decorated on the outside with a moulded theatrical mask and a festooned garland to the right of the mask. Theatre masks, such as these, may have been worn by actors or in semi-religious performances and processions.
