Pottery, vessel, jar
A complete large jar in Thameside Kent ware (TSK 2). The vessel has slight imperfections of a few short and shallow pre-firing grooves aligned horizontally on the upper body.
This vessel held cremated ashes and had a bowl placed over the opening as a lid (MST87[387]<144>). The jar had been deposited in an amphora of dressel 20 type and formed part of a cremation group (CB251). From the Roman cemetery at Tower Hamlets, London E1.
