Decorated samian ware bowl, form Dragendorff 29, stamp: DAMONVS inside base, for the potter Damonus of La Graufesenque, South Gaul. Decorated with scrolls and wreath in the upper zone, lions and stags facing with floral ornament below. Samian ware is high-quality Roman tableware made in Gaul (modern-day France) and exported throughout the empire.
