Bowl
Part of a decorated samian bowl, form Dragendorff 30, made in one of the potteries in South Gaul. It is in an early style, decorated in the style of the potter Volus, with large rosettes forming a lower border around vessel. Samian ware is high-quality Roman tableware made in Gaul (modern-day France) and exported throughout the empire. See Oswald & Pryce, 1928, no 66.
