Part of an early micaceous Lezoux ware, made in a samian Dragendorff 29 mould, at one of the potteries in Lezoux, Central Gaul. The upper zone is missing. The lower zone is decorated with scroll design, with basal wreath of bird figures within festoons. The lower zone is decorated with foliate scroll design. Samian ware is high-quality Roman tableware made in Gaul (modern-day France) and exported throughout the empire.
