Whistle
Bone whistle made from a longitudinal slice through a bovine, horse or red deer long bone. The bone has been lathe turned and well polished to form a whistle. The rounded mouthpiece is concave on one side and houses the blow hole. The fipple is missing. The pipe chamber extends only part way down the bone, the remainder is solid. Just below the pipe chamber there is a circumferential groove, and neatly drilled round hole through the shaft. The hole is probably for suspension.
