Cup
Part of a plain samian ware cup, form Dragendorff 24-25 made at Lezoux, Central Gaul. The sherd has been burnt black, it was found with associated blackened grain and burnt clay, all were burnt in the the Boudican fire of AD 60.
Samian ware was high-quality Roman tableware made in Gaul (modern-day France) and exported throughout the empire.
