Cap, half-brimmed cap
Cap, brown wool, hood-shaped, with deep fall-down back, and ear flaps. The turned-up internal edges of the cap have been cut and may have been a full knitted lining. Lining edge has 7 stitches per inch. Fine velvety pile present. The ground yarn is paler than the pile, suggesting the cap was dyed after construction. The crown is lined with a separate circular piece knitted in the round with cut edges.
