Ink pot
The term 'ink-horn' was used for any kind of portable inkpot, irrespective of the material from which it was made. Scribes were itinerant and even those who worked in one place must have found it convenient to have a portable form of inkhorn. These were usually attached by draw-strings to a penner and slung from a girdle or worn around the neck.
