The Shears

Ralph Combs issued this trade token, worth a half penny, for his business at the sign of the Shears, in Great Wood Street.

SHEARS (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A pair of cropper's shears R.C (initials in Roman capitals on either side of sign, in field); Rev inscription: IN. GREAT. WOOD. STREET. 68 (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = HIS / HALFE / PENY / R.E.C. (in four lines of Roman capitals with triad of initials as bottom, in field).
