The Blue Anchor
This trade token, worth a farthing, was issued for a business at the sign of the Blue Anchor, in Thames Street (now Upper Thames Street and Lower Thames Street).
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 3108; Obv inscription: AT.THE.BLEW.ANCOR (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = An anchor (in field); Rev inscription: IN.THEMES.STREET (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = M.P.M. (triad of initials in Roman capitals, in field).
