The George
Anthony Blake, a tapster (someone who pour's drinks at a bar), issued this token, worth a half penny, at the George Inn, in Southwark.
Boyne & Williamson (1891) reference Southwark number 9; Obv inscription: ANTHONY / BLAKE / TAPSTER / YE. GEORGE / INN. SOVTH / WARKE (in six lines of Roman capitals, in field); Rev inscription: No legend Device: Three tobacco pipes and four tankards (in field).
