The Dog and Duck
This trade token, worth a farthing, was issued for a business at the sign of the Dog and Duck, in Southwark.
Boyne & Williamson (1891) reference Southwark number 83A; Obv inscription: AT.THE.DOGG.AND.DVCKE (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A spaniel with a duck in its mouth (in field); Rev inscription: IN.SOVTHWARKE.1651(around field, in Roman capitals) Device = E.M.S. (triad of initials in Roman capitals, in field).
