The Rose Tavern
This trade token, worth a farthing, was issued at the Rose tavern, in Poultry, Cheap Ward, City of London.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 2273; Obv inscription: AT.THE.ROSE.TAVERN (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A full-blown rose (in field); Rev inscription: IN.THE.POVLTREY (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = T.E.D. (triad of initials in Roman capitals, in field).
