The Ship
Edward Brent issued this trade token, worth a half penny, for his business at Pickle Herring Stairs, near Tooley Street, Southwark.
Boyne & Williamson (1891) reference Southwark number 340; Obv inscription: EDWARD / BRENT / HIS. HALF / PENNY / 1668 (in five lines of Roman capitals, in field); Rev device: A sailing boat (in field).
