The Ship
Margaret North issued this trade token, worth a half penny, for her business at the sign of the Ship, on St Mary Hill.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 2692; Obv inscription: MARGRET. NORTH. AT. THE. 1668 (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A ship in full sail (in field); Rev inscription: ON.ST / MARY. / HILL. / HER.HALF. / PENNY. / M.N (in six lines of Roman capitals, in field); octagonal.
