Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 2668; Obv inscription: WILLIAM.CARTER (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A crown and two sceptres (in field); Rev inscription: IN.ST.MARTINS.LANE (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = W.K.C. (triad of initials in Roman capitals, in field).
The place of issue for this token is uncertain, it may be St Martin's Lane, St Martin le Grand, in Aldersgate Ward, in the City of London, or St Martin's Lane, in Westminster, Middlesex; now part of the City of Westminster.
